Our Chapels of Rest are open by appointment during our normal office hours & also outside of those times. We will open our chapels Saturday, Sunday & bank holidays by appointment only.
We do not remove jewellery of any sort unless requested to do so. We would appreciate your decision as soon as possible. Any jewellery removed should be collected from our office before the funeral to avoid any possible error.
Modern embalming or hygienic treatment is carried out in our own modern embalming theatre & ensures that relatives & friends who view a person have a memory of one who is peacefully asleep.
Our fleet of limousines seat 6 persons in comfort.
We offer a complete horse drawn funeral service with a team of two, four or six horses (black or white) with black or white mourning carriage.
For the motorcyclist, retired from the saddle or active to the end, what could be more appropriate than a unique & distinguished sidecar hearse for their final ride.
Flowers can be ordered through us or through any florist. They can be delivered to our office or to your home before the service. Only at your request will we take flowers back home, to a nursing home or to a local hospice. There is no extra charge for this.
When a large congregation is expected at the funeral service there may be a wish to have special service sheets printed, giving the order of service & hymns. We can arrange for the printing of these in consultation with the officiating minister. It is important to let us know as soon as possible if this service is required.
We can help you compile obituary notices to be placed in any local & national newspaper giving brief details about the deceased & the date & time of the service.
We are pleased to receive donations sent for named charities & will provide relatives with a list of donors.
We can arrange for the removal of memorials etc so that burial can take place. We will on request submit a written estimate for any additional works you may require ie additional inscriptions, cleaning or renovation.
We are also able to supply new memorials & a memorial brochure is available for these. Many churchyards & cemeteries have restrictions firmly enforced, regarding the size & types of memorials. Please check with us before the funeral on applicable regulations.
We are frequently asked to arrange a funeral to or from another part of the country. This presents no particular difficulties as we have very close links with all parts of the country through our associations.
We are also experienced in funeral arrangements to & from other countries & various regulations & documents required.
For centuries doves have symbolised peace. You can release a dove in memory of a loved one at a funeral. A single white dove, a pair of white doves or a dozen doves in one large basket can be released.
